This educational session provides a foundation overview of the death doula role, training pathways, and the skills needed to offer compassionate, non-medical care to individuals and families during the dying process.  We will explore the history of the doula work, ethical boundaries, vigil planning, bedside presence, communication with families and care team, collaboration with hospice and community resources, self-care, boundaries, burnout prevention, and training certification methods.  Attendees will leave with practical knowledge, resources for further training, and a clearer sense of how to begin this meaningful work.  For Adults.  No registration necessary.
