Cyanotype Print In-Person

Learn to use the sun to create beautiful prints! This form of printmaking is how blueprints got their name, and why they are always blue. It is an early form of photography, creating images by recording light. We will use the same techniques as Anna Atkins, the woman who first used photographs to illustrate a book. Using specially treated paper, water, sunlight, and objects from nature and around the house, students will create stunning blue and white prints to take home. This program was made possible with Arts & Cultural Heritage Funds from Minnesota's Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment.
