Kumihimo (Japanese Multi-Stranded Braiding) Class In-Person
This centuries old braiding technique was originally used to make cords to tie on the armor of Samurai warriors. Using a simple eight-sided loom and satin cord, participants will learn to make seven- and eight-stranded braids that can be used as friendship bracelets, bookmarks, and many other things. We complete the bracelets with metal jewelry clasps for a professional finish. Registration required. For ages 6 to adult. Limit 20. Sponsored by the Friends of the Rockford Library.
