Painting with Scissors like Eric Carle! In-Person

Eric Carle is the beloved author of books like The Hungry Caterpillar and The Grouchy Ladybug. All of Carle’s creations were vibrant collages put together from various art papers he produced himself. Students will begin by making a funky background with watercolor paints. Then they will decide what kind of insect they would like to create using a variety of colorfully patterned art papers. Next, participants will learn how to use scissors to draw as Carle did. This is a class where everyone gets to in a unique way and stretch their imagination to make a beautiful piece of artwork. For ages 8 and up. Limit 15. Registration required. This program was made possible with Arts & Cultural Heritage Funds from Minnesota's Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment.
