Introduction to Geocaching

Learn about the new high-tech, entertaining adventure game Geocaching. This class will cover the fundamentals including the basic use of a GPS for finding, hiding, and placing geocaches. After the class, you can try out your new skills during the Waite Park Family Fun Fest Geocaching Contest from June 10-13. All ages. Limit 25. Please preregister.

Join Professor Bill Cook from St. Cloud State University to find out how wiggly worms can turn food scraps and yard waste into compost for the garden. Expect to get dirty! Nalah and the Pink Tiger Puppet Show

In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre presents Nalah and the Pink Tiger created by artist, author and puppeteer, Sawyer-Aitch. This is the story of a little girl who lives so intensely in her imagination that grown-ups around her view her as a troublemaker. Things come to a head when - in addition to all the exotic animals that Nalah has “placed” in the house – a pink tiger “follows” her home from the zoo and creates havoc. The story celebrates the joyful explosiveness of a child’s imagination. A question & answer period will follow the 35-minute show. Ages 3-10. Limit 25 children. Legacy event.

Dig into Reading Story and Craft: Dig into a Garden

Cartooning with Gary Harbo

Gary Harbo, author and illustrator of seven action packed adventure books, including The Black Hills Adventure and The Northern Woods Adventure, and the drawing instruction book, How to Draw 104 Cartoons with Gary Harbo, will visit our library for a fun hands on hour of drawing. Gary will be drawing five pictures at once while participants pick the parts they like best for their characters. Everyone will have a finished creation by the end of the hour. Ages 7-15. Limit 12.
