"Three Rivers" Watershed Science Museum Workshop for 7th Graders

The Three Rivers residency program, led by Science Museum of Minnesota staff, will guide 7th grade students over three days (9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.) in answering two questions: What is a watershed? How does the use of surrounding land affect the health of a river? They will explore the important differences in water quality and land use of the Mississippi, St. Croix and Minnesota rivers with hands-on research with the same type of "live critters" that water quality scientists do!

Landscape Design

We will be hosting an adult workshop on Landscape Design presented by Becky Roelofs, part owner of Meadowbrook Landscaping in Motley and Horticulture Specialist at Living Legacy Gardens in Staples. If you are in need of help planning that area of your yard that needs attention this is the class for you. Attend this hour-long gardening class to learn how to layout the entire yard to best fit your likes and needs. We will review perennial bed locations, maintenance and creating interest for all seasons.

"Dig into Reading" & Gardening Children's Workshop

We will be hosting a youth workshop, for K-5th Grade students, exploring soil texture and the properties of different soil types and soil particles. Join Master Gardener Marge Meyer and Becky Roelofs to have a hands-on touchy feeling class. Older children are welcome to attend.

Rescuing Randy
