Ice Cream Social and "Dig Into Reading" Kick-off

Where: Great River Regional Library - Delano

Our annual ice cream social will feature visits and reading with diary ambassadors. Register for the summer reading program and sign up to win one of our wonderful prize baskets. Eat some ice cream, of course. The Wright County Dairy Farmers and the Delano Friends of the Library will sponsor this fun event. Everyone can participate.

Mad Science at the Library Seesion 1

Come join the fun as we conduct "mad" science experiments,including an exploding volcano, yo celebrate the beginning of the Summer Reading Program. For 9-14 years old. Limit 10 per session. We will have 3 sessions (1) 1:30 - 2:30 pm; (2) 2:30 - 3:30 pm; and (3) 3:30 - 4:30 pm.

Whimsical Fairy Garden

When: Thursday, June 13, 2013 - 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Join a Wrigth County Master Gardener to create magic and whimsy with fairies in this small container garden class. We will be plantiing miniature landscapes and adding tini treasures. Please bring 2 small items to accessorize your fairy garden. Items might include: shells, small stones, marbles, doll accessories, pinecones. If you have a fairy or gnome that need a home, bring them along too. Class is limited to 10 children 7 - 9 years old.

Magician Jared Sherlock

Abrakadoodle Duct Tape Mania

Make an awesome duct tape bag from the funkiest tape colors around! We'll have camouflage, neon, zebra, leopard print duct tape and more.All materials supplied. This fun class is limited to 20 children 5-10 years old, so call the library to register. Legacy fund will pay for this program.

Dog Day Afternoons at the Delano Library

Join us for "Classic Tea" based on the endearing books The Secret Garden, Anne of Green Gables and Little Women. Learn about the "accidental" discovery of tea by an ancient Chinese emperor, how afternoon tea was popularized in England and about the enjoyment of tea drinking in Canada and the U.S. Enjoy traditional tea foods, craft a beautiful Victorian-inspired paper fan and place your name in a drawing for one of our classic books just for attending. Teatime Tillie author Carla Rae Johnson will be your hostess for this traditional, but not overly "proper" tea.

Pizza in the Park and Concert in The Park with the Bazillions

The make you own "invisible ink", create your own code names & disguise; participate in a marshmallow catapult contest & complete a stealth maze scavenger through the library.
