Mozart, The Boy Genius! presented by Pages of Music

Fourth grade students at the Independence Elementary School will learn about one of the most famous composers of all time, Mozart. They will enjoy the re-enactment of a concert by the little boy Mozart, and learn about the "The Magic Flute". Area homeschool students are also invited to attended. Sestri in Concert

Sestri is the brainchild of musical director Celo V'ec at St. Francis Music Center in Little Falls. This group of women is devoted to the study and performance of women's Slavic folk music. In this parent and child program, learn how to engage your active learners through movement. Denise Eide will share her experiences teaching active children and reveal the natural kinesthetic components to reading and spelling.

• Learn active games to play during the summer to build reading skills and create life-long, fun memories
• Develop an appreciation of the gifts of kinesthetic learners.
• Learn how to utilize the kinesthetic gift while strengthening areas of weakness.

Woody Guthrie's 100th -Anniversary Concert Celebration

Long time Minnesota folkies Pop Wagner and Charlie Maguire, and bluesman Tony Glover, come together in a rare collaboration to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Woody Guthrie’s birth with a musical tribute to the songwriter. Guthrie's songs are a part of American folk music history and are celebrated by Maguire (guitar, vocals and harmonica), Wagner (guitar, fiddle, and vocals), and Glover (French harp and vocals). Consummate musicians who have performed nationally, at the Minnesota State Fair, and on Prairie Home Companion, the trio will bring to life Guthrie's music. The group prompted Minneapolis Star Tribune writer Jon Bream to write: "Unless Bob Dylan were to crash the party, you could not find a more apropos trio...to celebrate Woody Guthrie's birthday."
