Meet Local author: Mary Johnson

Join the Friends of the Buffalo Library in welcoming Mary Johnson, author of "Lambs Dancing". Mary will talk about her book which is set in rural Minnesota during the early 1920's. Strong characters, especially Jensine Neilsen, a new teacher contracted to Lake Valley, make this a heartwarming story. Mary will also discuss her soon-to-be-published second novel. An Orphan Train Journey

Ann Zemke's grandmother rode the orphan train to Northern Minnesota in 1906 when she was only 8 years old. A family in Bertha selected Marjorie as their child from the train depot platform. As an adult, Marjorie wrote her autobiography. Now the details of her life story have been captured in a special quilt designed by her granddaughter that is on display as she retells her grandmother's experiences. This is a Legacy funded event.
