The Great River Guitars were formed in 2016. The players encompass a wide variety of guitar ensemble styles suited to a specially invited group of elementary and middle school students at PMI Guitar School in St. Cloud. They play instrumental guitar works arranged for "guitar band" in much the same way of a small choir or jazz band.

Great River Guitars plan to share the following selections (among others): "America the Beautiful," "Finlandia," "Freebird," "007 - James Bond Theme," "Superstition" (by Stevie Wonder), "The Cay" (a Raggae-inspired tune), "The Shadow of the Bull" (a literature-inspired tune), and "Malaguena" (Spain).
