 Author Candace Simar, a life-long Minnesotan and grandchild of immigrants who nurtures a passion for Minnesota history, will speak about her fourth and final novel in The Abercrombie Trail historical fiction series, Blooming Prairie. It tells the story of Scandinavian immigrants during and after the 1862 Sioux Uprising and takes readers on a harrowing journey through grasshopper plagues, economic crisis and threatening Indian tensions.
