A Poet Don't You Know It! a visit with Laura Purdie Salas

 Laura Purdie Salas, author of over 100 books for kids and teens, including BOOKSPEAK! POEMS ABOUT BOOKS (Minnesota Book Award, NCTE Notable, Bank Street Best Book, Eureka! Gold Medal, and more), STAMPEDE! POEMS TO CELEBRATE THE WILD SIDE OF SCHOOL (Finalist, Minnesota Book Award), and A LEAF CAN BE, will speak about poetry, writing and show us how to write a poem. She loves to introduce kids to poetry and help them find poems they can relate to, no matter what their age, mood, and personality. She has also written numerous nonfiction books. Laura will teach three sessions during the day - 10 - 10:45 a.m., 12:30 - 1:15 p.m. and 2 - 2:45 p.m. in the Cora Eckstrom Elementary Media Center at Upsala Area Schools. She will also speak in the evening from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the Cardinal Media Center at Upsala Area Schools to all ages.
