Lounsbury is an author and public speaker. She has five books and 24 short stories published. Her latest book is her own memoir, Thrift Store Shoes published by a division of Guideposts. Her book, Reaching Past the Wire: A Nurse At Abu Ghraib, was nominated for the Minnesota Book Award. Lounsbury has also assisted many other authors in the writing of their books.
